The AN-|AN/ALE-39 Counter Measure Dispenser System (CMDS) is a electronic warfare expendables dispenser primarily used to fire defensive flare (electronic warfare)|flares. It is being replaced by the AN-|AN/ALE-47.

It is used on helicopters and low-speed fixed-wing aircraft such as the MC-130 COMBAT TALON, A-10 Thunderbolt II, MH-53 PAVE LOW, and Army special operations helicopters. When cueing|cued by an AN-|AN/AAR-47 or other missile exhaust detection system, it immediately ejects flares. The flare-launching tubes are of a standard form factor that can also contain chaff (electronic warfare)|chaff or expendable jammers.
