Andrew F. Krepinevich, Jr. is President of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, a respected think tank on national security policy and budget. He has written extensively on strategic policy. He is a member of the Defense Policy Board and the Defense Science Board.

He is a retired U.S. Army officer, with military service in the Department of Defense’s Office of Net Assessment and on the personal staff of three secretaries of defense. Member National Defense Panel in 1997, the Defense Science Board Task Force on Joint Experimentation in 2002-03, and United States Joint Forces Command’s Transformation Advisory Board. He has recently joined the Secretary of Defense Defense Policy Board. Dr. Krepinevich has testified on numerous occasions before the U.S. Senate Committee on Budget and House Budget Committees, the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services|Senate and House Armed Services Committees, and the House Government Reform Committee; lecturer at Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Stanford, the United States Military Academy, the Air University, the U.S. Army and U.S. Naval War College|Naval War College, Europe’s Marshall Center, and France’s Ecole Militaire.

Dr. Krepinevich has served as a consultant on military affairs for many senior government officials, including several secretaries of defense, the National Intelligence Council, and all four U.S. military services, as well as the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq. He has also advised the governments of several close allies on defense matters, including those of Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

He has taught a wide variety of national security and defense policymaking courses while on the faculties of United States Military Academy|West Point, George Mason University, The School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University.
