Dr. No was the first film featuring the character of British secret agent James Bond, based on the Ian Fleming novel of the same name. Produced in 1962 and directed by Terrance Young, it starred Sean Connery as James Bond, with Ursula Andress as principal 'Bond girl' Honey Ryder. The film cost about $1.2 million to make, but collected over $20 million at the box office worldwide, quickly spawning a string of sequels starting with 1963's From Russia With Love. The film was set in and mainly filmed in Jamaica, and also starred Joseph Wiseman as the villain, Doctor No,[1] and Jack Lord as CIA agent Felix Leiter.
