In the U.S. Army, the Heavy Equipment Transporter System (HETS) is a tank transporter used to the M1 Abrams tank and similar equipment (e.g., the M104 Wolverine mobile assault bridge) over roads. Tank tracks have limited service life, and tank transporters save track wear by using extremely heavy trucks that carry tanks and similar large tracked vehicles.

Made by the Oshkosh Truck Company, HETS consists of the combination of a 8x8 M1070 tractor and a 70-ton semi-trailer, M1000. As opposed to earlier U.S. tank transporters, it has seats for the crew of the tank it carries.
