I started this article as part of a write-a-thon and because it was a suggested core article in Sociology. While I am admittedly not extremely proficient in this area, it is my hope that this is a decent start upon which others can build. Michael Yates 21:41, 6 February 2008 (CST)
- Certainly a good place to start. I'm going to move the specific examples that you've included into catalog subpages and focus the article on a broad explanation of just what rites of passage actually are and how scholars think about them. Discussion of specific rites are really valuable, I think, but would make the main article unwieldy.
