The Magician’s Nephew is the second to last book, in order of publication, in C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a prequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and so in chronological order it is the first book in the series, and some fans suggest that reading the novels chronologically should be the preferred order.

Storyline

In Victorian London, a sad little boy named Diggory Kirke and Polly, his neighbour, exit our world through the machinations of Diggory's Uncle Andrew, a sinister, weak-willed and maladroit magician. The adventure takes them into two new worlds, including one now called Narnia.
