'''Women's Test cricket''' began in 1934–35 with a three-match series between [[Australia Women (cricket)|Australia Women]] and [[England Women (cricket)|England Women]], which the visitors won 2–0 with one match drawn. England Women then went on to New Zealand where they played a single Women's Test, which they won, against [[New Zealand Women (cricket)|New Zealand Women]]. Since then, there has been a steady growth in international women's cricket which has accelerated since 2005 when the [[International Women's Cricket Council]] (IWCC) merged into the [[International Cricket Council]] (ICC). There are now seven Women's Test nations with the original three having been joined by [[India Women (cricket)|India Women]], [[Netherlands Women (cricket)|Netherlands Women]], [[South Africa Women (cricket)|South Africa Women]] and [[West Indies Women (cricket)|West Indies Women]].
