Obviously everyone want 'good standing' to remain so I'll accept that and wait to see what you guys put to gether to re-vote. D. Matt Innis 20:14, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

There is a lot more to consider here than simply how long the nomination period lasts. The charter does not specify how long the polls are to remain open, how the votes are to be tallied, who certifies the election results, how the election is to be conducted. Jones 00:32, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Elections and referenda shall be organized by the Managing Council and carried out by the Constabulary, with the following conditions:

1. Two weeks shall be provided for nominations and for discussions of the issues brought about during the nomination period.
2. Elections shall be open for a period of not less than seven days. The length of time for which the election shall be open shall be determined by the Management Council.
3. Election results shall be certified by the Management Council not more than 2 days after the close of the election.
4. All Each Citizen in good standing—as defined by the Management Council—and regardless of status, shall be entitled to one vote.

5. The nature of the ballot (secret, open, in the Citizendium, by email, or otherwise) shall be determined by the Management Council, provided that any method adopted must be accessible and usable by every citizen.
