Let me know how I can help. CZ has a number of features that make information very accessible, but have something of a learning curve. If you like, I can help with the setup of what may, at first, seem confusing black boxes such as "metadata", as well as linking your new creations with existing articles. [[User:Howard C. Hi Christopher, I saw that you left a nice message for Howard on his talk page -- glad to have another expert aboard! As a Constable (and contributor myself), I just signed your name for you after your message. It's easy enough to forget (I do it myself occasionally), but we always want to sign our messages by putting the four tildes after our messages on the Talk pages. Thanks for doing this! (If you discover, or remember, that you haven't done so for any particular message, you can always go back to that particular Talk page, click the Edit button, and add the four tildes to the appropriate spot.) Welcome!
Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Larry Sanger 14:30, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Welcome!
I greet you from the hats of Computers, Military and Engineering, welcoming a real radar person rather than a communications person such as myself. If you'd like to comment on anything in the radar, MASINT, or IMINT hierarchies, that would be most welcome. Also, you can go to AN/ and look at "pages that link here", or "Related Articles" (more readable but not as up to date to see coverage of military electronics.
Let me know how I can help. CZ has a number of features that make information very accessible, but have something of a learning curve. If you like, I can help with the setup of what may, at first, seem confusing black boxes such as "metadata", as well as linking your new creations with existing articles. Howard C. welcome, and signing your name
(If you discover, or remember, that you haven't done so for any particular message, you can always go back to that particular Talk page, click the Edit button, and add the four tildes to the appropriate spot.) - Thanks! In fact, even though this was posted right at the top of the page, I still missed it...Christopher Roussi 16:20, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I know -- for some reason the eye (and mind) seem to skip over that blue box! Hayford Peirce 16:32, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Are you the same Hayford Peirce that wrote the short story "Unlimited Warfare" that I seem to remember reading back in my misspent youth? Christopher Roussi 16:50, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yup, back in *my* misspent youth -- my first story, and, I think, my most reprinted one. Twenty years later I wrote a sequel called "Unlimited Roquefort", which was a much better story. If Analog is still in business in 2014, I have plans to submit one called "Unlimited Gaul, or, Forty Years Later".... Hayford Peirce 16:55, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Cool! (As we used to say.) I'm a sci-fi fan, starting about that time...if I wanted to read (what you consider) your "best" novels, which should I begin with? Christopher Roussi 17:00, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Why don't you take a look at this Amazon site where all my books are listed with a brief comment by me on each of them. That ought to give you *some* idea of what each book is about -- after that, I'll be happy to expand on any of them.... http://www.amazon.com/Books-That-I-Have-Written/lm/24T8V2KW0SB5T/ref=cm_lmt_srch_f_1_rsrsrs0 Hayford Peirce 17:47, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
