Welcome!
Welcome, new editor! We're very glad you've joined us. Here are pointers for a quick start. Also, when you get a chance, please read The Editor Role. You can look at Getting Started for other helpful introductory pages. It is essential for you as an editor to join the Citizendium-Editors (broadcast) mailing list in order to stay abreast of editor-related issues. If you wish, just ask me to create a "personal sandbox" for you where you can test out editing and writing articles. If you need help to get going, it is a good idea to join our discussion forums. That's where we discuss policy, proposals or technical problems. You can ask any constable for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and thank you! We appreciate your willingness to share your expertise, and we hope to see you begin actively editing and contributing to Citizendium. Milton Beychok 22:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to a fellow editor and author
As a fellow editor and author in Citizendium, I want to offer you a very warm welcome! Please visit the Category:Religion Workgroup and the Category:Linguistics Workgroup to see all of the articles already in those workgroups.
I have taken the liberty of creating a personal sandbox page for you. To access your sandbox, just click on the blue link labeled My sandbox in the upper, left-hand corner of your User page. Once you get there, you can click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and you can:
- Practice writing articles in the Wiki markup language.
- If you already know the Wiki markup language, you can draft any articles you want to write and keep changing them until you are completely satisfied with them ... and then you can create a new article by cutting and pasting the sandbox article into the new one.
- You can invite other Citizens to visit your sandbox, review a prospective article that you wrote in sandbox, and ask for their comments/critique before you proceed to cut and paste it into a new article.
Don't know what the Wiki markup language is? Click ==> CZ:How to edit an article. Also, click ==> CZ:Home to find a complete list of all our help pages. Another excellent way to learn the Wiki markup language is to click on the "Edit" tab at the top of any article and see how the markup language was used there.

Re consideration of nominating article for approval
Frederick, when convenient, will you take a look at the article, The Fourth Great Awakening and the Future of Egalitarianism, in consideration of its merit for nomination for approval.
The article title is the title of a year-2000 book by Nobelist economist, Robert William Fogel, and the article itself is essentially a synopsis of Fogel's thesis.
I started the article and did most of development. It was considered for approval a few years ago, but Larry wanted an editable table instead of the image-table I used, taken from the publisher's website. I've finally gotten around to wikifying the table, and I think it does look better—the image-table can be seen in article history.
For reasons you'll see if you look at the article, I will also make this request of an Economics Editor and a History Editor.
If it looks okay to you, all you have to do is edit the article's metadata page (here), put 4 tildes next to one of the ToApprove Editor items, save page. You'd then be one nominator, and other Editors, including yourself, then could remove the nomination banner if discussion subsequently finds that it does not merit approval.
