The Management and Editorial Councils were fully merged in 2013
The Combined Councils of the Citizendium are the Management and Editorial Councils. The Councils in combination have two responsibilities as defined by the Citizendium Charter:
- By Article 28, the Combined Councils must nominate a candidate for the position of Ombudsman, with their choice then put to community vote for approval.
- By Article 31, any officer may be recalled from their position by a two-thirds majority vote of the Combined Councils.
