The team won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and has also won the UEFA European Championship three times. Among the most famous Spanish footballers are Alfredo di Stéfano (who was Argentinian by birth but acquired Spanish citizenship in 1956), Francisco Gento, Raúl González Blanco (Raúl) and Andrés Iniesta.
