Welcome!

Welcome to the home page of Earth Sciences Workgroup! There are a lot of important things to say about Earth Sciences, but authors are few and rather dormant at present. If you believe you can contribute, please join, and add [[Category:Earth Sciences Authors|YourSurname, YourName]] to your author's page. If you'd like to be an editor, please follow these instructions. Whatever the contribution you'd like to give, you are welcome here! Make us cancel forever that ugly "authors are few and rather dormant" stuff!

There are several ways you can help, as:

  • Put this page in a better shape, to begin!
  • Start the Earth Science article (see the red link?)
  • Surf the list of top articles: are we missing something?
  • Improve the already existing articles
  • Start your own article. Add [[Category:Earth Sciences Workgroup]] at the end of your contribution!

Have fun!

Subgroups

This is a proposal for subdivision in subgroups:

  • Geology
  • Atmospheric Sciences
  • Ocean Sciences
  • Criospheric Sciences

There are, however, argument that might cross trough such subgroups, as:

  • Climate
  • Geophysics
  • Geochemistry

Any ideas for a better organization is welcome.

High priority

Here's a list of not-live-yet articles contributors should consider to work on. These are selected mostly because (1) have important implications for the average people out there (e.g., earthquake), or (2) explain basic concepts in Earth Sciences that probably should be found in any Encyclopedia.
