Airey Neave (1916-1979) was British lawyer, soldier, and politician. After combat service in World War II, and being the first prisoner of war to escape from Colditz, he was a member of prosecution staff at Nuremberg Trials. In politics, he was Conservative shadow Minister for Northern Ireland, assassinated by Irish National Liberation Army shortly before Margaret Thatcher won office.
