Pokémon is an entertainment franchise owned by Nintendo and created by Satoshi Tajiri. Today the franchise has released video games, films, television series, comic books, merchandising, and other items. The name Pokémon is an abbreviation of Poketto Monsutā, which means "Pocket Monsters".
