As far as uploading documents, one first has to ask why the document is being uploaded. If it's something hard to find, yes, an image might go on a Gallery subpage or elsewhere. In general, we look for more expert synthesis (as opposed to original research) than WP, so it might be more appropriate to explain the significance of the document in the narrative, then to paste it to the article. Relevant graphics, of course, do add to the article (e.g., a map of the area around the tower).

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Milton Beychok 22:14, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Just want to re-iterate that you should change your email address

Hi, John. I just want to re-iterate that you go to the your "Preferences" tab on the top of this page and change your email address to john.calvin.moore@gmail.com Thanks, Milton Beychok 22:25, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Finally done Milton. Thanks! John Calvin Moore 20:44, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Great to see that you have already dipped your toes in the water!!

John, its great to see that you have already made some contributions to Abnormal psychology. Keep it up!! Milton Beychok 18:14, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Some ideas for contributions

Hi John, welcome aboard CZ, and glad to see you jumping right in. Milton has already given you some hints as to how things work here in general, and I wish to add some more practical suggestions on what possibilities you have to contribute in addition to what you already have in mind. For a start, I just took some of the keywords from the information you supplied upon registration, and display below the current state of related CZ articles (for icon documentation, see Template:Rpl/Doc):

In order to find articles dealing with similar topics, it's also worth looking at the Related Article subpages of such an article (or the [r]).

Furthermore, in case you are involved in homework assignments, please consider doing so via Eduzendium articles.

Finally, you can help future newcomers by giving your feedback on the above suggestions. To do so, please leave a note on my talk page.

Looking forward to fruitful collaborative editing, --Daniel Mietchen 22:48, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Infobox, etc. on Charles Whitman

Did you see my explanation on Talk: Charles Whitman? Generally, CZ doesn't use infoboxes except for some specialized things in the sciences. Once the new Editorial Council is in place, the role of infoboxes, succession boxes, and other things that WP uses will be reviewed.

--Howard C. Berkowitz 20:19, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Returning to Citizendium: an update on the project and how to get involved

Hello - some time ago you became part of the Citizendium project, but we haven't seen you around for a while. Perhaps you'd like to update your public biography or check on the progress of any pages you've edited so far.

Citizendium now has over 16,000 articles, with more than 150 approved by specialist Editors such as yourself, but our contributor numbers require a boost. We have an initiative called 'Eduzendium' that brings in students enrolled on university courses to write articles for credit, but we still need more Editors across the community to write, discuss and approve material. There are some developed Psychology articles that could be improved and approved, and some high-priority Social Science articles that we don't have yet. You can also create new articles via this guide, and contribute to some Psychology pages that have been recently edited - or to any others on Citizendium, since you're a general Author as well as a specialist Editor. You may like to contribute to discussions in the forums, and might consider running for an elected position on the Management and Editorial Councils that oversee the project.

If you have any questions, let me know via my Talk page or by leaving a message below this one. Thank you for signing up and reading this update; I hope that you will look in on our community soon. John Stephenson 14:42, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
