Fighter aircraft [r]: Military aircraft which are essentially used in air-to-air combat. ^[e]
Vertical takeoff and landing [r]: Aircraft, most commonly helicopters, that can take off and land vertically, with no horizontal takeoff or landing roll. ^[e]
Short takeoff and vertical landing [r]: A carrier-capable aircraft that takes a short takeoff, without catapulting but possibly a "ski jump" ramp, but lands vertically. ^[e]

Royal Air Force [r]: The British military service primarily responsible for air warfare ^[e]
Royal Navy [r]: By long naval tradition, when there is no qualifier but "Royal", the navy being discussed is that of the United Kingdom. ^[e]
United States Marine Corps [r]: Branch of the U.S. armed forces serving as elite fighters on land and aboard sea-going amphibious warfare ships. ^[e]

Falklands War [r]: 1982 war between Argentina and the United Kingdom over the Falkland Islands and their dependencies. ^[e]
Gulf War [r]: Add brief definition or description
Kosovo [r]: Country in south-eastern Europe which declared independence from Serbia in 2008 - not officially recognised by the United Nations. ^[e]
Iraq War [r]: (2003-2011) Invasion and occupation of Iraq by a coalition of countries led by the U.S. to depose Saddam Hussein who was accused of stockpiling weapons of mass destruction (which were never found). ^[e]
