The sport of football in France is administered by the French Football Federation (Fédération Française de Football; FFF). The FFF became a member of FIFA in 1919, replacing the defunct Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques (USFSA) and was a founder member of UEFA in 1954. France as host nation won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and they are currently (2019) the football world champions having won the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Among the most famous French footballers are Just Fontaine, Michel Platini, Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry.
