The Lafferty is a ferry operated by the Northwest Territories, at Fort Simpson, where the Liard River empties into the Mackenzie River.[1]
Her engines failed on November 4, 2020.[1] The navigation season was over, and her crew was moving her to where she would be beached for the winter. Rescuers, from Yellowknife, were able to run a line to the vessel, and pull her to shore.
