Saitama prefecture (埼玉県 Saitama-ken) is an area of Japan located in the Kanto region of Honshu island. Its population was 7,071,000 in 2006.[1] It is also considered part of the Greater Tokyo Area.[2]
Saitama prefecture shares its name with its own capital city, Saitama (埼玉市 Saitama-shi).
