Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Larry Sanger 18:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Welcome!

I'm a Computers Editor, and there are a number of articles where opinions would definitely be appreciated, and I'd be glad to help get you in initial setup of articles -- the metadata and naming can be confusing.

Indeed, noting you are studying knowledge engineering, there are several discussions going on in both the Forums, and at CZ Talk:Usabiity (yes, it's a terrible title) on how to improve our navigation models. Larry has asked that some be extracted as proposals, although some of the ideas are very experimental. Nevertheless, I think some subset of the "orphan" discussion may be close to becoming guidelines, and I very much want reviewers for drafts, especially people who don't necessarily think in American English.

Please feel free to leave a note on my user talk page, or email me, if I can be of any assistance.
