Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Hayford Peirce 23:46, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Welcome!

I suppose I should start by touching my Computers Editor hat, but actually, I think I'm more interested in my figurative artist beret -- I'd be delighted to have some input on my articles on charcoal (art) and pastel. On the Computers and Engineering side, however, I've done a good deal of work with clinical physiological monitoring, so if your interests coincide there, I'm sure there are opportunities to contribute. Feel free to bounce ideas, via talk page or email.

You ask about the next centuries; I sometimes wonder about the next week. :-) Howard C. Berkowitz 00:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey Joshua, it is very good to see more people interested in taxonomy. Be very welcome! I wish you a great deal of work and fun here, lol! BTW, despite I live in Brazil, I spent one year in Phoenix in 1999/2000. I loved AZ and miss some friends there. Dalton Holland Baptista 20:19, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Good version

Thanks a lot for the corrected picture, Chris Day! Joshua Choi 22:16, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

No problem. I deleted the old one too. Let me know if you need more help. It might take a while to get used to the ins and outs here, although, you seem to be doing a pretty good jog so far. Chris Day 22:18, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Animal/Animalia

Joshua, I guess the articles should be merged and one name be chosen as a redirect to the other. Yes, I agree with you that it was much better if we could have a rule working the same to all articles' names but there isn't agreement about that so far, therefore choose the one you think fits better to the article. As I told you, for several reasons I like better the scy names and the common name as a redirect but there is no consensus about that as yet. Case we have it later I suppose we can rename the articles accordingly. It is just my personal opinion. Feel free to do it your way. Dalton Holland Baptista 02:52, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

No prob., as you wrote on my discussion here is the answer. Dalton Holland Baptista 02:54, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

A minor question about Animal

Joshua, I am no biologist by any means. I have read your article, and I think it was well done. However, I do have a question. Why did you feel it necessary to have a Citation sub-section to the References section? Most CZ articles have just the References section without any sub-sections.

Since this article has only two references, that is all the more reason to raise the question of why you felt a sub-section was needed. My suggestion would be to simply delete the Citation sub-section header. Regards, Milton Beychok 02:13, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
