- Welcome to Citizendium beta!
The Citizendium (sit-ih-ZEN-dee-um), a "citizens' compendium of everything," is an experimental new wiki project. The project, started by a founder of Wikipedia, aims to improve on that model by adding "gentle expert oversight" and requiring contributors to use their real names.

- For notices to people working on this wiki, see the notice board.
As of May the 2nd, 2007, we were working on over 1,730 articles.
One of our projects these days is The Big Cleanup. It's a good way to get acquainted with our work and help out.

Hint: look to the left for other important links.
For technical problems:
- If you get an odd error message, or a page won't load or update, do a "hard refresh" (ctrl-F5 in Windows) of the page you're trying to view.
- If changes to another page (like a template) affects the display of a page, you may have to make a trivial edit, such as adding a space, to page you want to update. This is because we have caching turned on during launch.
- If you are still having trouble, mail constables_at_citizendium.org immediately. Bug reports go to bugs_at_citizendium.org (but we'll know about any obvious bugs).

Meet our contributors: authors are the folks who write the articles, and discuss them on discussion pages.
Some are also expert editors, who nominate articles for approval.
Most of our constables, who get new folks on board, and ensure everything runs smoothly, are also authors - and some are editors, too.
We work together, learn together, and try to make our dream of a great and free encyclopedia come true - together.
