Vicky Hartzler (1960-) is a teacher, small business author and who became a member of the Missouri state legislature (1995-2001_, who defeated senior Democratic representative Ike Skelton in 2010, to represent the 4th Congressional District of Missouri of Missouri.

She is an activist in the Christian Right, who wrote a book on campaigning, Running God's Way, and represented Coalition to Protect Marriage in Missouri, which successfully worked to ban same-sex marriage in the state.Vicky Hartzler’s website. [1]

A Tea Party activist, her campaign used anti-incumbent strategy against Skelton, who is also a social conservative.
