Vlieland

Vlieland is one of the Frisian Islands. It is also one of the munitipalities of the Dutch province of Friesland. Vliemand lies between Texel and Terschelling.

There is only one settlement on the island, called Oost-Vlieland. As in 2006, there are 1140 people living there.

The haurbor of Oost-Vlieland is served by the ferries to the town of Harlingen in the mainland Netherlands and the Terschelling island. The ships are operated by the Doeken company. There is one bus route on the island, that connects Oost-Vlieland and the camping areas. This service is provided by TCR Vlieland company.

Vlieland is popular tourist destination. There are two camping areas, about fifteen hotels and many rooms to hire.
