The Nickel Plate Road 765 steam engine is a super-powered Berkshire 2-8-4, S-2 class steam locomotive built by the Lima Locomotive Works for the Nickel Plate Road (NKP). The 765 was built in September 1944. Her last run for the NKP was on June 14, 1958. The 765 first operated out of Bellevue, Ohio and was later transferred to the Fort Wayne, Indiana rail yard.[1]
