Michael Arcuri is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives (Democratic) representing the 24th Congressional District of New York. He voted for the November 2009 but against the final March 2010 health care bill, and is a cosponsor of the Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act. 2010 Elections
He has been told that the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) will not support him again, due to his vote against the health care bill. According to SEIU spokesman Matt Nerzig, Jerry Dennis, the president of SEIU local 200, told Arcuri "it’ll be very difficult to support him come next election if he’s not on this bill. The search for alternatives [to Arcuri] has already begun. This guy won by two percent with our support and [Local] 1199’s support against a moderate Republican last time.
