Medical Subject Headings defines anthroposophy as a spiritual therapy technique based on "knowledge of the nature of man," derived from theosophy by Rudolph Steiner in 1932. It is treated as a group 3 complementary and alternative technique, [1] "cannot be supported unless and until convincing research evidence of efficacy, based upon the results of well designed trials, can be produced."
The Physicians' Association for Anthroposophic Medicine defines it as a holistic extension to conventional medicine, using spiritual elements as well as biochemistry and other sciences.
