Manchester United Football Club (popularly abbreviated as MUFC or Man Utd) is an English football (soccer) club based in Manchester.
United has had great success in domestic competitions and has also consistently done well in European tournaments, winning 16 domestic league titles and 2 European titles.
United is also one of the most popular clubs in the world, supported by millions of people. Also known as The Red Devils, United are amongst the richest and most valuable clubs. American businessman Malcolm Glazer currently owns the club following his takeover in 2005.
United's stadium, Old Trafford (also known as The Theater of Dreams), situated on the outskirts of the city, has a capacity of more than 75,000 and is considered one of the best in Europe. Sir Alex Ferguson is the present manager of the club, having served there since 1986. Gary Neville is the captain.
