Mervyn Peake (9 July, 1911 - 17 November, 1968) was an English writer, particularly of fantastical novels such as the 'Titus trilogy'. He was also an artist and book illustrator.

Life

Mervyn Peake was born in China in 1911 and educated at Tientsin Grammar School, Eltham College, Kent and Academy Schooles. His first publishing achievement was a book of poetry, Shapes & Sounds, published in 1941.
