I had not intended to start on this article, but coming across the terms Budget balance and Budget deficit as the subjects of definitions, I was struck by the fact that they only refer to government.  I have written it entirely out of my own head - my expertise is in voluntary organisations, but the two textbooks by management gurus that I possess (by Peter Drucker and Charles Handy) do not mention the subject at all, and the other textbooks specifically on the subject of financial management that I have come across are positively childish.  The sections on government and commercial organisations need expanding and possibly correcting.  I shall have no objection at all if it is put into American English, to be consistent with the word organization in other subject headings.  I just happen to write in British English. --[[User:Martin Wyatt|Martin Wyatt]] 21:42, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

--Martin Wyatt 21:42, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
