GE lighting

Hayford, interested to see your new entry here.

At some point, it might be good to have information on GE's work with lighting, from its earliest days, through the N.E.L.A., to its ultimate abandonment of new lighting research. My late father worked for 40 years as a research chemist for them at NELA Park in Cleveland -- many tales to tell. Around my house, as I was growing up, we always used to call it "Generous Electric" -- this was, however, said with some irony! Cheers, Russell Potter 16:30, 9 June 2007 (CDT)

I sure hope that he owned some stock and passed it along -- it is truly the Golden Goose for the long-term investor! Right now I'm getting a 28% dividend return on my initial investment. Hayford Peirce 16:39, 9 June 2007 (CDT)
p.s. -- is there an "Industrial workgroup" contemplated? Russell Potter 16:31, 9 June 2007 (CDT)
I didn't know what else to call it -- I saw that Microsoft is listed under "Computer workgroup" please feel free to change it to something more appropriate: conglomerate? diversified industrial? electrical company? GE is hard to classify.... Hayford Peirce 16:39, 9 June 2007 (CDT)
