Marc Alexander holds an MA with Honours and an MPhil in linguistics from the University of Glasgow. His current PhD research focuses on the cognitive semantics of scientific popularisations, using theories from psychology, cognitive linguistics, classical rhetoric and systemic-functional linguistics. His other research interests include examining the cognitive and linguistic manipulation of readers in both published academic disputes and fictional narratives. His Masters' research was supported by the UK AHRC and he is currently a Carnegie Scholar.
