India Against Corruption
As you have uploaded material on this organisation, can you let us know any details about your relationship, specifically membership, of the IAC? John Stephenson (talk) 12:51, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
:See . Peter Jackson (talk) 14:29, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
::IAC is a non-political platform which brought together many grassroot activists and former activists during 2011-12. I was never a member of IAC but some of my mentors were, plus I knew many of them and have access to IAC's vast media / image libraries which really ought to be in public domain. I recall seeing a CZ forum post by Hayford Pierce on 11.Nov.2011 that it would be great if say the Occupy Wall Street organizers had been on CZ. Although its gone now here is the google cache "I'm Afraid That the Project Must be Close to Being a Total Failure". I'm trying to replicate that sentiment on CZ to build high quality niche expert encyclopedia articles while strictly adhering to NPOV and high quality sourcing which includes genuine primary sources, and then considering inviting the article subjects to join CZ, correct their articles and stay on and edit. {see note below}
::About the R-Wiki post, CZ has nothing to worry on that score, and everything to gain, ie. Wikipedia's loss is CZ's gain. The IAC Wikipedia drama in the RW post is actually about 2 well entrenched PR syndicates of paid editors and admins at Wikipedia with their rival armies of sockpuppets, which is finally under investigation there WP ARBCOM case:Admin Wifione. IAC had refused to pay them and instead wants all IAC's Wikipedia articles and media permanently deleted from Wikimedia's anonymous editing and consequent anarchy.
::I would also like to help CZ easily get better readership, more expert editors and vastly better search engine rankings, more sponsorship. eg. Wikipedia is ramping their grants to attract Indian editors by 400% this year. Pradyumna Singh (talk) 19:35, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
*::attaching signed articles by those involved in controversial contemporary issues covered by topics in our encyclopedia. For example, the Occupy Wall Street movement in the U.S. and oversees will eventually become the subject of history. If we could attract major contributors to this movement to supply their views, we would immediately become a repository of historically significant documents. To ensure that bias does not infect our encyclopedia, we could also attempt to attract contributors who opposed the Occupy Wall Street movement to record their views.
::::You cannot get people to edit regular articles on themselves or their organisations (except for educational institutions) unless it is something like a minor factual error, as that is a violation of the policy on self-promotion. Nor can they start them. Contributors need not be formal members but only "closely associated" with an organisation to fall foul of this rule. CZ does allow signed articles as subpages, but these are general written by Editors or invited experts and are subject to Council approval. Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! John Stephenson 13:57, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
