Dual-purpose gun[m]: A artillery piece, now most commonly on ships, which has a sufficiently wide range of aiming angles, fire control, and ammunition that it can engage in two distinctly different type of targeting, such as anti-surface warfare and anti-air warfare, or anti-tank warfare and anti-aircraft artillery
