1922 British mandate of Palestine

Formalizing decisions made at the end of the First World War and the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, the 1922 British Mandate of Palestine assigned certain former Ottoman territories, generally near the Mediterranean and in an area called the Levant, to the stewardship of the United Kingdom.
