Brad Marston was a 2010 Republican candidate for the Massachusetts House of Representatives, losing against incumbent Marty Walz in the 8th Suffolk District. He is sssociated with the Tea Party movement.

This is his first campaign. After graduating from college in 1982, he entered the family financial business, and then formed an investment company. He left finance in 1995 and worked as an actor/singer becoming a member of the stage actor's union, Actor's Equity Association and until recently, worked in restaurant management with various national chains including Rainforest Cafe and Uno Chicago Grill. He is a member of the Beacon Hill Civic Association, The Esplanade Association, The American Civil Liberties Union and the Ward 5 Republican Committee.

Issues

Reproductive and family

Abortion issues are a major factor in the election, with both sides accusing one another of extremism. NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts quoted him as saying, on the conservative sites Let's Get This Right and The NextRight, " . . . that every human deserves the right to life - from conception . . ." The sentence goes on to state explicit opposition to a woman's right to choose in terms typically used by extreme anti-choice organizations. " These blog entries were later removed. [2]

Government services

He signed a No New Taxes Pledge, but he has also developed a series of cuts to stop the growth of the state budget, including repealing the Pacheco Law and doing away with Project Labor Agreements, reducing the size of the state payroll, repealing Film Industry Tax credit and the Life Sciences Initiative.
