The Divine Comedy are an Irish pop band, and the alias of frontman Neil Hannon. Hannon has been the only member of the Divine Comedy to remain throughout the band's evolution, having founded the band in 1989 with two school friends in Enniskillen.

The Divine Comedy has collaborated with other artists such as French comedienne Valerie Lemercier and cabaret singer Ute Lemper.

The Divine Comedy's music was originally released on Setanta Records and Parlophone. Neil Hannon has announced that he will be developing his own record label, Divine Comedy Records, and will be rereleasing his early work under this label after acquiring the worldwide copyright for his music from the Setanta label.

Victory for the Comic Muse won the Choice Music Award prize for Best Irish Album of 2006.[1]
