E. E. "Doc" Smith

E. E. "Doc" Smith (1890 – 1965) was the author of the Lensman and Skylark series of space operas. He was also holder of a doctorate in Chemical engineering While his prose tends to be florid, his influence can be seen in such later science fiction series such as Star Wars.
