In health care and information retrieval, EMBASE is a database of citations from scientific journals. The content of EMBASE overlaps with MEDLINE; however MEDLINE has additional focus in North America while EMBASE has focus in Europe.

Searching both EMBASE and MEDLINE together may be more comprehensive for meta-analysis than searching either database alone.[1]

Search filters are available for EMBASE.[2]
