At Buchenwald Concentration Camp (November 1943 - January 1944), Nazi medical experiments were conducted to test pharmaceutical treatments for phosphorus burns; nonconsenting prisoners were burned by incendiary bombs.

Karl Gebhardt, Karl Genzken, Joachim Mrugowsky, and Helmut Poppendick were all charged but acquitted by the Medical Case (NMT).
