Honestly, I was looking for Algerian sources...

But I note that the country profile at Algeria's Washington embassy is copied from the CIA World Factbook. That seems to be the diplomatic equivalent of "some content might have come from Wikipedia."

Dave, I am hunting through my own files to see if I kept a copy of Trinquier's book. I do have the West Point handbook on revolution in French colonies, which has a chapter on Algeria -- let me know if you want me to email it.--Howard C. Berkowitz 02:06, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the collaboration. I noticed that the Algerian embassy was copying it's own facts straight from the CIA, which is certainly a circular argument. I added some overview sites to the external links page, and I have a history of Algeria here which I am slowly working through.
You might have guessed - Algeria was the first internationally recognized state alphabetically that didn't have an article. I'm hoping to slowly work through the alphabet as a sideline to some of the other articles I have been working on. David Finn 02:28, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Happy Zambia. Sorry, as the evening continues, I am going into more and more giggling fits as I try to figure out if the Central Intelligence Agency is a front for Algeria. Semi-seriously, I wonder if anyone at world neutralist conferences has noted this? Soviet rhetoric for American intelligence used to be the Dark Forces.
A little inside amusement -- what are now listed as the Country Studies produced by the Library of Congress Federal Research Division were previously sponsored by the U.S. Army, in a contract research center where I worked at American University. The then-Foreign Area Surveys were written for wider dissemination; they were then mostly unclassified with a small SECRET appendix. The equivalent CIA Basic Intelligence Surveys were all SECRET/NO FOREIGN NATIONALS. Somewhere in the transition from FAS to Country Guide, as I remember, the Factbook appeared. Howard C. what the devil is International organization membership section?

Unless it's greatly changed I will remove it. Hayford Peirce 02:39, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I'll have a go at some of that, I have information on Algeria's participation with a few of these bodies. David Finn 02:41, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, put it this way - it's quarter to 5 so I'm off to bed. Whether the section gets deleted or not, I can write a paragraph or two about membership of international organizations, and then perhaps we could have a subpage listing all international affiliations? David Finn 02:45, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
No, I'm certainly NOT going to delete it as long as there is a Plan for it, hehe.... Hayford Peirce 03:49, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
