Redir target

I guess given how common the Energy (science) meaning is, that may be the best place to set the redir to? J. Noel Chiappa 09:43, 22 May 2008 (CDT)

Where does this go?

Who was it who first said that energy could neither be created nor destroyed, and where does that go? Aleta Curry 08:43, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Aleta, good to see you back. The realization that energy is conserved started to grow slowly from around 1830 onward and is associated with the names of William Thomson (the later Lord Kelvin), Rudolf Clausius, James Joule, and Julius Mayer. It was not easy to see that the heat that you generate by rubbing your hands is in fact the same kind of thing as the work you do by carrying your dog up the stairs. It took some very smart people quite some time to see it.--Paul Wormer 09:47, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
