I was born and bred in Chile, the second generation born here of Scottish grandparents who emigrated in the latter half of the 19th Century or early 20th. Having studied Law and Sociology at university (first in Chile and then at Essex), my life's interests became Education and Philosophy. I have held senior positions in various schools in Chile, and am currently Head of a coed K-12 school in Santiago (Dunalastair). During my career in education I have been closely associated with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, particularly with its Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course for which I was Chief Assessor in the late nineties. I am currently part of the Regional Advisory Council for IB Latin America, and a member of the Regional Head's Representative Committee. My interests are most things educational (including technology), Ethics, Epistemology, and Philosophy of Mind, and for those who don't mind the Spanish, I have a blog [1] where I publish things related to these interests...
