Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via Twitter. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any administrator for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun!

You can find some more information about our collaboration groups if you follow this link Citizendium_Pilot:Discipline_Workgroups.You can always ask me on my talk page or others about how to proceed or any other question you might have.

Nice to see you here Kathleen. Can I call you Kattles? Maybe we can collaborate on a Microbiology page. David Tribe 20:47, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Ok Kattles. Tribal it is, for me as a fellow author. You've gotta say this is an interesting way of communicating. BTW Nancy Matt and Robert are all very nice: Ive got to know them pretty well. I expect Ill get to know the rest of the crowd equally well over time. At the moment in my spare time Im thinking of rewriting Microorganism from scratch. How do you feel about joining me in that?.

Perhaps more useful for you is a rewrite of Horizontal gene transfer in prokaryotes

Or you can alternatively start something that fits with 'tools for studying microbes' and I stand back a bit? David Tribe 22:22, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Yeah, that sounds really good Tribal. I was having a look through, i think i will do a little bit of stuff on my own (albiet very slowly) on Prokaryote. Not that i really know much... I'll start with a basic year 12 text book and work up. :P

Oh! Guess what? Guuuuuesss! I got into the practical micro subject this afternoon.. So i start that very soon.. I'll be extra busy. Kathleen Reinoga 22:27, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Really busy is good. The devil plays games with idle children , they say. A gentle quiet rewrite of prokaryote might be just the thing to get you going. Ill stsy clear. cheers Tribal. David Tribe 00:22, 28 February 2007 (CST)

Please join us for Biology Week!

Hello Kathleen,

I am giving you this personal invitation to join us this week for Biology Week!

You're a Citizendium Biology Author and we need authors as much as editors here to get involved. Did you know that there are over 200 biology authors here? Yep!

Please join us on the wiki and add or revise biology articles. Also, please let your friends and colleagues who are biologists, biology students, or naturalists, know about Biology Week and ask them to join us, too. Any way you can help make it an event would be most welcome. Think of it as a Biology Workgroup open house. Let's see if we can kick up activity a notch!

Thanks in advance! --Larry Sanger 14:28, 22 September 2008 (CDT)
