Delete

Hi Chuck :-), use the {{speedydelete}} template and I will see it sooner! Thanks for catching oxygen??? Matt Innis (Talk) 21:35, 6 June 2007 (CDT)

Hi Matt. Ok, I will use {{speedydelete}} next time. When do I use {{delete}}? Kjetil Ree 06:41, 7 June 2007 (CDT)
At this point, there is no protocol to ever use {{delete}}. That is an old leftover from wikipedia I think. We're still looking at which templates we want to use so haven't deleted all of them yet. We want to avoid becoming "template happy" and go overboard, especially on article pages. If you have any input, it is always welcome. Matt Innis (Talk) 07:18, 7 June 2007 (CDT)

Hi Chuck, thanks very much for using {{Mediaflag}}. I deleted the image you tagged. ---Stephen Ewen 20:20, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

He-he. I just found another one to replace it. Stephen Ewen 20:56, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

{{subpages}}

Still experimental. Not for everyday use yet.  —Stephen Ewen (Talk) 18:21, 13 July 2007 (CDT)

Ok. Are you going to delete the subpages I have already created? --Kjetil Ree 18:24, 13 July 2007 (CDT)
Nah, no need to delete them. If the whole idea goes down, which I seriously doubt, they can be deleted later.  —Stephen Ewen (Talk) 18:40, 13 July 2007 (CDT)

Butler

Thanks, Chuck! Aleta Curry 20:31, 16 July 2007 (CDT)

You're welcome, Aleta. Kjetil Ree 21:30, 16 July 2007 (CDT)
Hola, again, buddy--I tried to copy your formatting, but haven't quite got it right, even after a few gos. Next time you're online with a moment to spare, can you try to see what I've done wrong at Silver (household)? Aleta Curry 23:02, 16 July 2007 (CDT)
Stephen Ewen fixed it. The problem was that you wrote <reference/> instead of <references/>. --Kjetil Ree 06:28, 17 July 2007 (CDT)
Well, thanks again! Aleta Curry 18:20, 17 July 2007 (CDT)

Images

Hi Chuck

I noticed you added an image to household silver. I've finished working on butler, but don't have the resources to spend time online searching for images, even if I were so inclined. If you come across any suitable pictures for butler or great house in your travels, can you add? Thanks Aleta Curry 23:58, 24 July 2007 (CDT)

Hi Aleta,
I'm on vacation now, but I'll see what I can do when I come home. --Kjetil Ree 05:28, 25 July 2007 (CDT)
Vacation...I remember those...(sigh)....Have a blast! Aleta Curry 17:02, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

Can you guide me?

Hello Chuck! I've registered a few days ago, and I'm really eager to start writting articles, after more than one year spent on Wikipedia. I've seen that you had already contributed on several articles about New York City which is my favorite field, so I was wondering if you could give me a piece of advice in case I needed to know something, or in case (let's hope I won't!) I did something wrong. Thanks. Jonathan Brugière 09:12, 23 August 2007 (CDT)

Hello Jonathan,
Your contributions are fine. There are however some differences between WP and CZ:
  1. You should add Template:Checklist to the talk page of newly created articles. See CZ:The Article Checklist.
  2. You should add Category:CZ Live to pages you create.
  3. You could add an image or two to your articles, see Help:Images. The Citizendium accepts less free licenses than Wikipedia, so that you have a wider range of images to choose from. But note that at Citizendium, all images must be be attributable to a real person going by his or her real name or an official entity.
As a Wikipedian, you should read CZ:Introduction to CZ for Wikipedians. Feel free to ask me again if you have any questions. Kjetil Ree 09:51, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
Ok, I take notes! I'm very happy to contribute to this project. Thank you for correcting my mistakes (some English words are similar to French words e.g: indépendant=independent!) and for helping me. Jonathan Brugière 14:38, 25 August 2007 (CDT)
One more thing: You have to actually fill out template:Checklist, not just add it to the talk page. See this edit for an example. --Kjetil Ree 16:08, 25 August 2007 (CDT)

Template

Hi Kjetil, you fixed a template (van der Waals). I don't see what you corrected, can you tell me what I did wrong, so that I don't make the mistake again?--Paul Wormer 02:09, 10 September 2007 (CDT)

Hi Paul,
Whenever you use a template, you have to start it by using the two characters {{. You wrote:
Information
|Description= Johannes Diderik van der Waals
The correct syntax is:
{{Information
|Description= Johannes Diderik van der Waals

Brief history of timekeeping

Hello,

I have noticed you just added this new section to the article wristwatch. In my opinion, this section is completely out of scope. You could use the text of this section to create or complete a more general article about timekeeping. --Patrice Gross 16:17, 15 December 2007 (CST)

Hello, I didn't add this section, I just added a photo ([1]). You should talk to Robert W King instead. Kjetil Ree 16:23, 15 December 2007 (CST)
Sorry, I believed I had clicked on the link to his page. --Patrice Gross 16:36, 15 December 2007 (CST)

Template:Tissot watch.jpg/credit

Hello,

I am a newcomer. Can you explain me why you have created this template (for an unique use?)? (CC) Photo: Jakub Sivek--Patrice Gross 16:36, 15 December 2007 (CST)

See Archive:Media Credit Lines within Articles for more about credit lines. Kjetil Ree 16:49, 15 December 2007 (CST)
Thank you. I go to study this page. --Patrice Gross 04:51, 16 December 2007 (CST)

Oh, no!

Hi Chuck--I see it's 2 o'clock in the morning by you, which means you're fast asleep. Missed you at the party but catch you next month, okay? Aleta Curry 19:07, 9 January 2008 (CST)

I actually thought I was last Wednesday! I created Krugerrand, and then realized that I was alone at the party... --Kjetil Ree 02:59, 10 January 2008 (CST)
Ha! Another one who missed the notice on the main page--Louis thought it was last week, too--I'm sure you guys weren't alone! Aleta Curry 21:41, 10 January 2008 (CST)
Well, we both showed up a tad late1. Hey, two's a party! Stephen Ewen 03:19, 10 January 2008 (CST)
Well, you've got a point there--of course, I completely misinterpreted the clock on Recent Pages, so I've no idea who was late--so for the January Write-a-Thon, I think all edits sometime around the 9th give or take a week or so have to count! Aleta Curry 21:41, 10 January 2008 (CST)

CZ International

Hi! I’m just letting people who have expressed an interest in CZ International know that there is now a proposal on the table.

Please discuss its feasibility at: CZ:Proposals/Internationalisation sandbox in the Discussion area.

Feel free to help develop the proposal, as well.

We'll also need "drivers".

If you've got no idea what I'm talking about, please refer to: CZ:Proposals/New and CZ:Proposals

Aleta Curry 18:01, 14 February 2008 (CST)

Chuck!

Where ya been, baby?

Party's on, and when you Euro kids wake, it'll be Wednesday.

So join us!

It should be our usual madcap affair.

This month, our special theme is "Something you absolutely love".

Be there or be square!

Aleta Curry 16:56, 4 March 2008 (CST)

I absolutely ♥ Cristiano Ronaldo (as soccer player[!]) --Kjetil Ree 17:43, 5 March 2008 (CST)
Would not have thought you meant anything else--hehehe. Aleta Curry 18:08, 5 March 2008 (CST)

Citizendium på norsk

Hei Kjetil!

Eg tek sjansen på å skrive litt norsk, sjølv om Citizendium er på engelsk. Takk for velkomsten.

Mvh,

--Lars Sundnes Løvlie 02:29, 5 May 2008 (CDT)

Hei Lars,
Hilsen --Kjetil Ree 06:13, 6 May 2008 (CDT)

Don't forget it's Party Day!

When you wake, it'll be time for the May Party. Hope to see you there, Chuck. Aleta Curry 21:09, 6 May 2008 (CDT)

Help with 'bug' reporting

Hi Chuck. Could you direct me to an appropriate page to discuss the subpages template? I looked for the template itself with Template:subpages but it didn't exist.

There is a problem with regard to the output of the template not wrapping, which means that my browser in 1024x768 screen size produces a scroll bar at the bottom. See Led Zeppelin for an example. Perhaps it has been discussed already, of course.. and maybe people are working on it. I don't know where the best place to bring it up might be though, as I'm as yet unfamiliar with the CZ pages etc.

Cheers. --Mal McKee 09:57, 14 May 2008 (CDT)

Ah - never mind.. I think I found the best place now at Template talk:Subpages. Capitalisation!! --Mal McKee 10:03, 14 May 2008 (CDT)

This is probably best addressed on the forums under the "Technical Issues" category under the New Skin discussions. Apparently we went from incredibly way too small to incredibly way too big on the text in the new skin. David E. Volk 10:35, 14 May 2008 (CDT)

Yeah, I saw the notice on the top of the page after I'd posted. I've not joined the forum as yet, but it sounds like perhaps the issue is something people are aware of and working on anyhow. :) --Mal McKee 11:43, 14 May 2008 (CDT)

where are you?

Sending a quick ‘hello’ out to all of you who wanted a weekend write-a-thon. Also, a nudge, push, and a shove to all those who haven’t made it out in a while. This Sunday, 10th January, is your Big Chance. Party theme is ‘stubs’. Now, what could be easier? Write about anything you want! (At least come on over and say ‘hi’—we’ve all been much too quiet lately and I rather miss everybody.) Aleta Curry 20:52, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
