User talk:Mark Harris
Welcome!
Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! D. Matt Innis 22:19, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
the plunge
Hi Mark, good to see you taking the plunge after your comment on the forum. I do not know anything about theology, so i cannot really collaborate to help you develop the articles. Let me know if you want any help, however, especially with regard to formating or if you have new idea for how things should be presented. Chris Day 17:37, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
You might find the "lemma" technique useful
I've noticed that you are creating a number of definition-only entries. There's a minimal effort technique that can make these more useful, which we call lemma. I've taken the liberty of using ecclesiology as an example.
1. Create Definition/[topic] and save.
2. Next, create a main page for [topic], put in only the text {{subpages}} and save.
3. This will now allow articles to link to [topic] even though there is only a definition; there will no longer be a red link. The lemma template on the main page has an option to enlarge it into a full article.
4. In principle, you can refer to lemma topics as subjects in related articles pages, which we see as a major navigation tool unique to CZ. I did set up a sample Ecclesiology/Related Articles, although I won't say the software is absolutely solid.
