Images

It may actually be better to just deal with this matter off-wiki, I'm not sure.

The first is for media already deleted. The second is for images that need to be deleted but you are first giving the user a chance to correct the problem (should be used sparingly, and reserved generally for new and possibly naive contributors).

Include acronym in template?

How about writing the template to include the particular acronym? This would give more versatility down the road for how you wish to present these templates. For example:

I really do not think that this article is adequately {{Acronym|NPOV}} because it only summarizes one side.

This template could then include any text you wish that is specific to that particular acronym or just include the specific acronym in a generic text. Best it can be changed at a later date if desired. Chris Day (talk) 13:27, 16 April 2007 (CDT)

I just made some changes to the {{Acronym}} template that can be used in the following format:

Test version of:

I really do not think that this article is adequately {{Acronym|NPOV}} because it only summarizes one side.

will give the following readout:

I really do not think that this article is adequately — (The Constabulary has removed an initialism here. Please use plain English instead, for example, "unbiased" or "neutral" ) — because it only summarizes one side.

Due to the 'if statement' the same template can also be used in the following format:

Test version of:

I really do not think that this article is adequately {{Acronym}} because it only summarizes one side.

will give the following readout:

I really do not think that this article is adequately — (The Constabulary has removed an initialism here. Please replace this with plain English. ) — because it only summarizes one side.

This is great, Chris, and you are clearly quite advanced with making templates (I am novice in the matter). Regarding the if, am I correct to assume this can be made to be any number of ifs? —–Stephen Ewen 22:49, 16 April 2007 (CDT)

Yes, you can nest the if statements and there are other operators you can use such as if equal, if exist. Chris Day (talk) 23:12, 16 April 2007 (CDT)

using soup template

I just made some changes to the {{Soup}} template so that it utilises a master list of acronyms (see Template:Acronymlist). This master list can be continually updated and maintained by the constables. This will work using the following format:

Test version of:

I really do not think that this article is adequately {{Soup|NPOV}} because it only summarizes one side.

will give the following readout:

I really do not think that this article is adequately Template:Soup because it only summarizes one side.

Due to the 'if statement' the same template can also be used in the following format:

Test version of:

I really do not think that this article is adequately {{Soup}} because it only summarizes one side.

will give the following readout:

I really do not think that this article is adequately Template:Soup because it only summarizes one side.

I noticed that one or more articles you've uploaded appear to contain material from Wikipedia, yet the "Content is from Wikipedia? tick-box was not checked. Please allow me to make sure the policy on that is very clear in case any error is being made.

If any content of an article at Citizendium — even one sentence — came from Wikipedia and you aren't the sole author of that content, be absolutely sure you check the tick-box. It is just above the "Save page" button. If you are the sole author, however, please make it clear on the relevant talk page by and post a link to the Wikipedia article history giving evidence of such. You can use the {{WPauthor}} template to assist you.

Please kindly review your contributions in this light. There are many reasons why we must be completely above board in this matter!
